Milonga Alegre wants to offer tangodancers the opportunity to dance to classic tango-music in a friendly and open atmosphere. This will be done mainly by organizing salons or milongas.

In addition to this Milonga Alegre will offer tango dancers the chance to practice their dancing skills under the guidance of an experienced teacher in so-called practicas.
And finally
Milonga Alegre, in cooperation with teachers from across the country, will organize Tango workshops where specific issues in tango are worked out.

Milonga Alegre has a classical traditional profile, which means that (almost) only music from la epoca de oro (40' and early 50')  and la nueva guardia (20' and 30') will be played. The music will be played using tanda's and cortina's. Tanda's, being the series of tango's, valses or milonga's, are separated from each other with short pieces of music, the cortina's.

Cortinas are meant to clear the floor for other dancers or give you time to change partners. But of course one might decide to relax for a while, chat a little with your partner or have a drink and just enjoy the other dancers.
